The Author of Genesis
So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation. These are the generations of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens.(Genesis 2:3-4 ESV)
To Seth also a son was born, and he called his name Enosh. At that time people began to call upon the name of the LORD . (Genesis 4:26 ESV) This is the book of the generations of Adam. When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God. (Genesis 5:1 ESV)
It’s often regarded that the author of Genesis is Moses. However, we can clearly notice the obvious narrative changes in chapter 2 and 5. While, this does not mean that Genesis is made of man’s arbitrary will, or is some sort of literature text which enriched itself as time passed by. We can say that all parts of Genesis are dictated by God, which may form several scripts, and Moses edited them and also added many things, which must also strictly under God's will.
